EquipmentShare is searching for a Staff Software Engineer to help support one or more product development initiatives. The position can be based out of Kansas City MO, Columbia MO or it can be remote.

Skills & Qualifications

    • Significant, demonstrable experience with JavaScript and/or a structured programming language (Python, Java, C#, etc)
    • Demonstrated and notable history of solving significant, complex technical problems

    • Demonstrated solvings problems and delivering solutions which impact the engineering organization
    • Applicable knowledge of agile development practices and principles
    • Significant experience designing and implementing domain-level architectures
    • Experience leveling-up other Engineers, providing mentorship
    • Demonstrated history of learning
  • Could have
    • Graduated from a bootcamp, college, or even be self-taught
    • 10+ years of experience
    • Hands-on, working knowledge of one or more of the following: React/ReactNative, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, kubernetes, serverless, streaming data, microservices & data lakes
    • Experience owning cross-team shared infrastructure
    • Have a history of working with leadership and other architects to choose new technologies and promote culture/process 
    • Deep technical expertise in a business-critical area
    • Performed serious research to evaluate and test options
    • Understands implications (and trade-offs) of reliability, scalability, operational costs, ease of adoption by organization, recruiting, etc.

    • Spends too much time chasing the newest “shiny” technology
