The Senior Cloud Ops Engineer will work in an Agile, collaborative environment to deploy, configure, and maintain systems, which may include software installations, updates, and core services. As part of your responsibility, you may have to work with customers to help them resolve their issues or queries. You will need to maintain the reliability, stability, and efficiency of the platform, including being an active participant in incident response and incident management, which may include being on-call. As SRE you will be required to automate and optimize processes using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Rundeck, New Relic, Github, Zabbix and Jira.
Responsibilities will include
- Recognize how his/her expertise and accountability fits into the Entrata's Goals and objectives.
- An innovative approach to solve significant issues, and timely guides development for global approach in new implementation that are consistent with Entrata's objectives and values.
- Research, evaluate and recommend new documentation tools and methods in support of documentation improvement efforts.
- Automation of routine task to address more complex system and infrastructure
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
- Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
- Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
- Work on a small team with high impact.
- Work with executives to align the team with the suite roadmap
- Work independently with very little guidance in most complex situations
- Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives
- Ability to act as team lead by directing the activities and execution of others.
- Manage and document Standards, Policies, and Processes for the SRE.
- Normal operating hours with some weekend “available” work (no graves, swing shifts).
Minimum Qualifications
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience in IT industry in the desired stream
- Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Python / Java / C/C++ / PHP / Bash scripting
- Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) and Networking
- Must hold an experience with managing AWS Services ( EC2, ECS, S3, VPC, ELB, ASG, NFS )
- Must be knowledgeable on SCM tool like GitHub, BitBucket, SVN
- Must be aware of Infrastructure deployment tool Terraform, CloudFormation
- Experience with Dynamic resource management frameworks (Kubernetes / Apache Mesos/ Yarn)
- Basic understanding Runbooks, Rundeck
- Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Must have experience implementing and maintaining monitoring policies and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold AWS Solution Architect certification
- AWS services, cloud technologies, change management, incident management, and monitoring tools (Zabbix, New Relic, Grafana).
- Good to have hands on Project Control tool Jira
- Knowledge of microservice architecture, web services
- Knowledge on CICD
- ITIL Process, CAB
