JOB SUMMARY:

As a core member of our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQ) team, you will manage a team of software engineers who will maintain, enhance, and develop new projects related to our critical recordkeeping and client-facing applications that support our important customers.  Additionally, your team will support and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure and ensure servers are running as expected and optimized for cost and performance.

In this rapid paced environment, you must possess a "can-do" attitude while demonstrating a strong work ethic.  You should possess strong leadership, planning, and organizing skills, in addition to strong technical skills.  In addition, you will be able to provide your input and expertise on designing and architecting new projects, infrastructure, and systems.

You will work closely with the Delivery Lead and other team leaders to complete capacity and project planning in the short and long term.  You will be an important part of the NQ team’s leadership and must be willing to present and support your opinion and ideas.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of software engineers and being responsible for team performance and planning their work.
  • 12+ years developing solutions involving the following technologies: C#, VB.NET, Web API, MVC, Oracle or other SQL, .NET Core, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with the following technologies with one or more of the following: Web API (JSON/XML), RESTful architectures, AWS API Gateway, Python and Lambda.
  • Multiple years of experience with Windows and IIS configurations and setup, as well as remediating server and application vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with jQuery and Angular or React JS framework is a plus.
  • Excellent experience in modern deployment models using Jenkins, Azure DevOps or other CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent experience with source code version control such as GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket or Azure DevOps
  • 12+ years of strong SQL knowledge on Oracle or other databases including writing stored procedures, optimizing, and debugging SQL.
  • Good experience on the AWS platform and services and other cloud products.
  • Good experience of modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the agile methodology.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to provide guidance and expertise to the team so they can grow their skills and knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of system architecture and design.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail oriented, self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience working on end-to-end delivery of projects in an onshore / offshore model.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while remaining professional and courteous.
  • Able to keep knowledge up to date in the appropriate technical and business-related areas.
  • Collaborates with colleagues regarding development best practices and/or application issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (Information Systems, Mathematics, Software Engineering)

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiar with DevOps principles and practices.
  • Comfortable with Linux, UNIX, and Windows based OS.
  • 2+ years of experience within a financial or other highly regulated industry.
  • Preferred work experience using JIRA in Agile or related development methodologies.
  • Delivers internal and external customer service excellence. Exhibits listening, patience, empathy, authenticity, pro-activity, and perseverance with our business partners.
  • Upholds commitment to delivering optimal solutions, in a timely manner, and balances customer needs with the best interests of the organization.
  • Collaboration across teams including Analysts, Testers, Business, and third-party integrators in reviewing, evaluating, designing, and implementing solutions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Key team members are spread out across the United States, so hours may extend to 9:30 PM IST or beyond from day to day.
  • Occasionally, support may be required outside the normal M-F schedule.
