Principal Container Platform Engineer

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). An ideal candidate must live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations listed here: Norfolk, VA; Indianapolis. IN; Atlanta, GA; Mason, OH; Richmond, VA.

The Principal Container Platform Engineer works with the business and technology stakeholder's on the development and delivery of end to end application technology products and services for enterprise wide technology application platforms that are aligned to the organizations strategic objectives and initiatives. This is a critical role responsible for designing and architecting Kubernetes platforms on EKS, GKE, AKS, and OpenShift in an enterprise environment. This individual will apply security best practices and drive operational efficiencies. They are expected to have a deep understanding of Kubernetes and surrounding technologies for seamless integration into enterprise-scale environments.

How you will make an impact:

• Design and architect Kubernetes platforms utilizing EKS, GKE, AKS, and OpenShift in accordance with the company's needs.

• Implement effective security protocols and best practices to safeguard the container platforms.​

• Drive operational efficiencies by optimizing processes and utilizing advanced automation techniques.

• Works with stakeholders to establish the overall applications architecture vision and ensures specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged in a multi-product environment.

• Recommends new technology solutions and products are delivered to stakeholders and align with enterprise strategic objectives.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and technology to define business requirements.

• Oversee the development and delivery of technical and/or functional specifications.

• Oversee the technical design reviews and testing to architectural technologies for application solutions and products meet business requirements.

• Leading and define the overall application system technology and architecture, development.

• Assesses the compatibility and integration of solutions and products.

• Works with IT to lead IT Business Transformation application architecture strategy and vision.

• Provides continuous consulting services and direction on projects.

• Champions and responsible for architectural standards, guidelines, principles, frameworks, and reference models.

• Collaborate with all stakeholders to define architectures for new strategic initiatives as well.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study a minimum of 11 years experience;  multi dimensional platform experience, expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Highly Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Kubernetes Administration

• Cloud architecture and development experience

• DevSecOps

Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies:

• 5+ years working in Cloud and Kubernetes

• Kubernetes certifications like CKA, CKAD, CKS

• Any Cloud certifications on AWS, GCP or Azure is plus.

• Experience in health care industry strongly preferred

• Experience mentoring others drive teams to achieve results, lead multiple or large complex technical projects and provide troubleshooting supports strongly preferred.
