SENIOR ELECTRICAL QUALITY ENGINEER

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Quality Engineer with passion for creating devices that save lives. The Senior Electrical Quality Engineer filling this role will be supporting various elements of the Quality System such as Complaint investigations, Non-Conformance Investigations and general failure analysis highly focused on electronics and system analysis. The primary responsibilities will be leading the Electrical sustaining project(s) focused on diagnosing and resolving technical issues. Issues may arise from both internal and external customers, including, but not limited to Product Lifecycle Management, Customer related, and Reliability. The role focuses on medium and highly-complex issues requiring a quick turnaround time and providing key feedback.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish failure analysis process and procedure. 
  • Write work instructions and processes for Failure Analysis investigation, tracks failures and provides metrics.
  • Responsible for root cause identification for failures seen in reliability testing, design validation, and product validation.
  • Lead root cause analysis and use a wide range of techniques and expertise to tackle challenging issues with components, modules, and systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams with scientists, technical support, and other engineers to create new and resolve determined root-cause issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations and engineering functions to troubleshoot and resolve product issues. 
  • Perform electrical and physical fault isolation to identify root cause of failure in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Draft comprehensive failure analysis report and communicate findings with project teams and management.
  • May work directly with CMs and their suppliers to resolve project related issues.
  • Take part in continuous improvement activities and support corrective & preventive actions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 + years proven track record in failure analysis of IC devices in medical devices preferred. 
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical fault isolation tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with CAD layout, ATE and bench test datalogs, digital and analog circuits, device physics, IC fabrication and assembly.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, manage multi-tasking, and discipline in completing tasks on schedule.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior QE or EE in the electrical fault analysis.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting delivery dates.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity
