About the team
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer I to join our Elastic UI team to build and support our React component library and design system. This person will be responsible for, through collaboration, designing, and developing technical solutions that work across many JavaScript (and TypeScript) environments as we continue to support efforts across Elastic.
Our React component library is used extensively by internal teams to maintain an accessible, cohesive user experience. We focus on strong documentation, solid implementations, and user-centric designs to push our product forward.
The right candidate has strong experience across front-end development including component libraries and build systems. They will make code contributions while considering downstream ramifications and provide mentorship to other members of the team.

- Advocate for user-centric design and development practices
- Lead and help implement technical decisions for the team
- Use your experience to push our components, tests, and documentation forward
- Support and collaborate with downstream teams who rely on our library
- Debug edge cases you’ll still remember years later
- Pair with engineers and designers from multiple teams
