Who You'll Be Joining: 

Our hive, headquartered in Toronto is looking for a new Staff Product Manager to lead our initiatives in Growth and Data Science! We are a team full of creative ideas with a passion to build world-class products and services and a drive to get things done. In this role, you will harness your extensive knowledge and experience in data science and growth strategies to develop and execute an ecobee-wide strategy that integrates these elements at the core of product development. This position involves both immediate impact actions and long-term strategic planning, ensuring data-driven growth remains central to all our initiatives.

Ideally, you have worked in a product leadership role at a world-class organization (regardless of its size), leading teams that build and ship complex technical products. You’ve acted as a change agent, transforming and modernizing products and organizations to leverage data insights and growth opportunities to delight customers and drive operational efficiencies.

This role is open to being 100% remote within the US and Canada, although our home office is in Toronto, Ontario. You may be required to travel to Toronto, Canada once per quarter for team and/or company events.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • As a Staff Product Manager at ecobee, you will gain experience as a senior leader in a growing business
  • Partner with the Data Science team to evangelize the application of data science and growth strategies across all ecobee’s products and work closely with other teams to deliver a cohesive and delightful experience
  • Lead our product strategy, creation of roadmaps, and delivery of key services; including home occupancy detection, thermal models, and growth-driven features that drive our home security and energy businesses
  • Lead the product discovery process by working directly with current and future customers, conducting interviews and research to define business requirements focused on growth and data utilization
  • Understand the customers that use the products today, why they do so, and how we can make their lives better with product innovations driven by data insights and growth metrics
  • Define and execute clear success metrics for both technological innovation and market expansion, supporting the team to achieve them
  • Track teams’ progress on set goals and milestones and provide regular updates to the management team on program status
  • Help the team navigate tough decisions by surfacing trade-offs and making clear, rational recommendations.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering highly successful and innovative software products which are AI-powered and/or growth-oriented
  • Understanding of ML tech stacks and data-driven growth strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to influence company-level strategy and work with business leaders to execute on the transformation
  • You have a proven track record of delivering highly impactful products to customers
  • You are a smart, curious, and analytical person with a bias for action
  • You have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and always seek to solve big problems
  • You are customer-obsessed and understand how users use your products better than anyone else
  • You are a natural leader and in group settings, your team looks to you for direction and decision-making
  • You are comfortable in a highly technical environment and can understand the nuances of technical decisions
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-stakes environment
  • You are passionate about making a positive impact on the planet through your work

Interview Process: 4 Rounds

  • Round 1: A 45-minute phone call with a member of Talent Acquisition
  • Round 2: A 60-minute virtual interview with our Director, Product Management 
  • Round 3: Team Interview where you'll meet with members of our Product, Engineering, and Design teams
  • Final Interview: Case Study interview in which you'll present your solution to a take-home challenge we'll have previously sent you
