About the team and the role:

Our Checkout team is at the heart of what makes eBay a trusted and effortless platform for millions of users worldwide. We’re currently looking for innovative thinkers and problem solvers who are ready to tackle the challenges of a dynamic e-commerce environment. If you have a strong background and knowledge in front end development and a passion for creating frictionless user experiences, we want you on our team. Having experience with payment systems is a plus.

What you will accomplish:

  • Incorporate quality and secure computing practices in every phase of software development life cycle

  • Communicate cross-functionally and work closely with the broader eBay teams ensuring partner engagement

  • Work throughout all phases of the software development process independently as well as work jointly with other team members.

  • Collaborate with architects, product management, engineering, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions alignment to development goals and principles.

  • Lead product design, produce clear, well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews.

  • Lead engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24x7 site.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering + 6 years of experience in software development (OR) Master’s Degree or Equivalent + 4 years of experience in software development

  • 5+ years of proven track record in developing mobile and desktop web applications on Node.JS using Javascript, CSS, HTML5​

  • Expertise in building secure, scalable web services. Doing so in JAVA, a plus!

  • Experience building responsive and adaptive designed pages

  • Desire to build innovative user experiences that balance business needs and customer expectations.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
