The Software Development Engineer in Test provides critical support for our core proprietary trading systems through the development and use of various QA tools and our test automation framework. In the career of fintech and low latency trading, you will be required to pivot often from one project to a higher priority to maintain our competitive edge in an ever-changing market. Our environments and application stacks are complex and require years to gain a solid understand of, but the payoff for success is scalable with that complexity and your contribution. The team you are joining will require you to be a self-motivated individual capable of managing your priorities and workload without micro-management.  You will have access to all the tools, education and support needed for you to grow to your full potential and become the trusted expert in your scope of work. 

Core Duties:

  • Collaborate with other SDETs and Developers to develop and maintain automated testing for order entry, market data, risk management, and any trading support applications.
  • Maintain and contribute to our proprietary testing framework and multiple supporting libraries, involving Python, Pytest, websockets, Restful APIs, and pyodbc.
  • Improve documentation and testing visibility via Jenkins, TestRail, and test artifact management to ensure coverage and completeness for release approval.
  • Learn and keep up with the complex and faced paced world of fintech and low latency trading.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of Python and keeps up with current standards (3.11 onwards)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Python ecosystem: third party libraries, packaging in-built Python libraries.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and Object-Oriented Programming
  • Familiarity with Linux and SQL database interactions
  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bonus points for:
    • Familiarity with CI software, such as TeamCity or Jenkins
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes
    • Familiarity with asycio
    • Familiarity with venv or conda
