DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer supporting the QA & Development environments for our proprietary trading systems, you work closely with core trading and software development teams to facilitate the testing of critical trading strategies and functionality.  You will manage multiple environments deployed in Kubernetes clusters and run related orchestration scripts.  This is fast-paced, dynamic work that provides new technical challenges constantly and demands that you learn new things daily. 

Core Duties:

• Build and support tools in Kubernetes; develop CI/CD pipelines
• Build and maintain Helm templates
• Manage all system processes running in development, QA, mirror, and UAT environments, including monitoring, start/stop schedules and error log monitoring
• Set up new environments or applications for various groups as needed
• Evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance and reliability
• Support developers, QA, and other company groups using test systems; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
• Support and continue development of web-based interface for running all test system processes, written in Python using Django
• Develop additional code and scripts to improve process of running processes, monitoring, configuration, etc.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of DevOps engineering and containerization experience
• Previous Python or Go scripting experience required
• Experience building tools in Kubernetes (with Helm preferably) and Docker environments
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in Kubernetes and developing CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes deployments
• Experience working with related tools such as Jenkins, AWS and Helm
• SQL experience including queries/updates/table creation/basic database maintenance
• Previous AWS/cloud experience preferred
• Experience working with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Previous experience supporting electronic trading systems preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of network communications, including use of multicast networking
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity; desire to continually self-improve and seek continual improvements in production support function
• High level of ownership and accountability, reliability, and strong follow through
• Ability to handle pressure and time constraints with composure
• Strong organizational skills, including ability to effectively plan and prioritize
