ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The API engineering team is looking for a Senior Engineer to the group. This candidate will have experience building Java applications and working in a highly-available and scalable environment. We seek someone that values simplicity over complexity - both in code and communication. You should be opinionated about what you build and offer constructive criticism on things you didn’t.
WHAT YOU’D WORK WITH ON THE TEAM
- Responsible for the technical design and delivery of new Java projects using modern, cutting-edge technology
- Develop enhancements to existing Java applications and build new applications from the ground up
- Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and assist in remediation fixes
- Assist in recommending and facilitating future maintenance and enhancements
- Work with the Product, Javascript, Operations, and Core Trading teams to support and enhance the APIs
WHAT WE NEED (PREFERRED)
- High performance Java development
- Expert understanding of RESTful API development.
- Spring Framework and Java servlet containers.
- Git, Maven, or any other CI/CD pipeline tools
- 24x7, highly-available architecture
- NoSQL and SQL database, and distributed caching environments
- Swagger, API versioning and writing/maintaining code for public facing API contracts
- Amazon Web Services
- Unit/integration tests with Mockito/JUnit or a similar framework
- Understanding of JSON, JMS, Jackson and Message Brokers like AMQ/Kafka
- Familiarity with Java 8 coding standards and best practices for application development
- Communication and problem solving skills
