About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer 2, you will be a crucial team member on our infrastructure team managing and maintaining our financial services platform built on a 24x7, highly-available architecture. We are critical infrastructure for our customers, so your work matters to our business. We value simplicity over complexity - both in design and communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong DevOps mentality and be passionate about building elegant, cloud-native fully automated solutions with security in mind.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement highly-scalable, highly-performance infrastructure, primarily within the AWS environment.
- Build and maintain our infrastructure through automation with configuration management and infrastructure as code tooling (eg. Terraform, Chef, Ansible).
- Deploy and manage clustered containerized solutions (eg. RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes)
- Work closely with our development teams on building and optimizing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues and assist in remediation fixes.
- Advocate for automation and simplicity, striving to foster innovation for our engineering team.
- Engineer and implement solutions to current technical challenges..
What You'll Need
- 3+ years of experience (DevOps / Infrastructure / Cloud )
- 3+ years of experience and expertise with multiple AWS services.
- Experience with CI/CD in an agile development environment using tools such as Git and Jenkins.
- Configuration management automation experience with tools such as Chef/Ansible
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experience building end-to-end cloud solutions from design, implementation to training and creating runbooks for internal support teams.
- Scripting and/or development experience with Python, Ruby or Bash.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
- A high level of technical expertise, combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills.
- Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results on a deadline and under pressure.
Bonus Points
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Helm, etc.
- Experience with monitoring and metrics using tools such as Splunk / Sumo / Instana / Prometheus / Telegraf / Grafana
- Experience with Kafka and /or ActiveMQ.
- Experience with databases such as DynamoDB and Aurora.
- Understanding of repository/dependency management solutions such as Artifactory
- Experience in Financial Services.
