About the Team

DoorDash Labs is an independent team at DoorDash that focuses on robotics and automation to develop autonomous delivery solutions as part of the DoorDash platform. The team is responsible for managing both on-prem robots, hardware and cloud infrastructure, as well as CI/CD and AWS operations. In addition, the team handles software validation and release management. The team has a significant impact on the daily success of the product and contributes to achieving company goals.

About the Role

DoorDash Labs is hiring a DevOps Engineer who is enthusiastic about DevOps, robotics, and autonomy and has practical experience with various infrastructure. The role involves simplifying deployments on robots, applying configuration and software changes to new and existing fleets, and managing a rapidly expanding environment. The team aims to implement advanced processes, tools, and frameworks to create a top-notch DevOps ecosystem and enhance the developer experience and productivity.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines while collaborating across teams to improve build, integration & release process. Shepherd zero-downtime process through continuous delivery practices, and rapidly releasing features
  • Dig into details, finding opportunities to improve software delivery, and ensuring quality
  • Design, build, and test scalable tools, frameworks and processes to support our fast growing autonomy team
  • Contribute to DevOps roadmap, schedule and key release milestones across all DevOps projects
  • Work in Agile framework to identify and automate solutions that result in enhanced developer experience and increased developer productivity

We're excited about you because you have...

  • B.S in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of industry experience as a DevOps engineer or equivalent
  • Experience with AWS and its services
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with Linux/Unix development environments and troubleshooting the system 
  • Experience writing scripts for automation
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, puppet, etc.
  • Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
  • Adaptability, resilience, and being able to thrive in ambiguity - things change quickly in our fast-paced team and you’ll need to be able to keep up!
  • Enjoy working collaboratively, you help everyone to win, not just yourself
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving skills in addition to excellent attention to detail

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

$140,250$189,750 USD
