About the Team

DoorDash Labs is an independent team at DoorDash that focuses on robotics and automation to develop autonomous delivery solutions as part of the DoorDash platform. DevOps at DoorDash Labs is a centralized team that supports the Autonomy Software team and Robot Operations. On DevOps, not only do we manage all the on-prem and cloud infrastructure our CI/CD and AWS operations, but we also are responsible for software validation and release management. Despite our small team, we have a huge impact on the day to day success of our product and enabling continued progress toward our goals.  

About the Role

As a QA & Release Engineer, you will work very closely with our Autonomy Software and Robot Operations teams to ensure our software lives up to high quality standards and is able to be tested and deployed daily. You will work closely with engineers developing new features for the autonomy stack to create test plans for both real world closed course testing and simulation scenarios. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing software releases to enable a continuous deployment of new features, improvements and bug fixes. You will report into the Manager of QA & Release Engineering on the DevOps team within Autonomy Software.

  • Generate comprehensive test plans to verify legacy and new autonomy software features to be tested in real world and simulated environments
  • Drive issue management and diagnosis for deployment and testing of new software in support of daily robot operations
  • Manage weekly software releases to maintain the high quality bar for our software and support continuous improvement
  • Own communication, reporting and maintenance of our software development CI/CD process

Required Skills

  • 5+ Years of industry experience as a QA or Release Engineer or equivalent.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix development environments and troubleshooting the system. 
  • Experience writing Python/Bash scripts for automation.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Prior experience working in AV, Robotics, Automotive or similar industries
  • Passionate about software validation and creating comprehensive test plans
  • Experience with release management 

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines and GitHub
  • Git fundamentals

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

$144,000$238,000 USD
