We deliver experiences to consumers through our Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Lines, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digitally led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business, as well as other initiatives such as Hey, Disney!  

This role sits in a JedAI Platform team and you will report into the Sr Manager of AI Engagement.

In this role, you will be positioned as an expert in Generative AI across Disney Experiences, specifically in the emerging field of Prompt Engineering. You will be responsible for the design and iteration of Generative AI prompts and the development of this skill across the organization.

You Will:

  • Design,develop,and refine prompts for various GenAI applications,including text generation,translation,question answering,code completion,and creative writing. 

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists,engineers,and product managers to understand user requirements and translate them into effective prompts. 

  • Experiment with different prompt techniques (e.g.,framing,instructions,examples) to optimize model performance and achieve desired outputs. 

  • Evaluate and analyze the outputs generated by AI models,refining prompts iteratively to achieve the best possible results. 

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in prompt engineering research and best practices. 

  • Document prompts and share knowledge effectively within the team. 

  • Conduct extensive research to identify relevant data sources for prompt development.  

  • Lead and mentor a team of prompt engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development. 

  • Establish and implement best practices, standards, and workflows for prompt engineering within the squad. 

  • Develop and maintain a prompt library or repository for reuse and knowledge sharing. 

  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate prompt engineering into the broader AI/ML pipeline. 

  • Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring prompt engineering deliverables are met on schedule. 

  • Represent the prompt engineering team in cross-functional meetings and strategic discussions. 

  • Develop and deliver training sessions on prompt engineering techniques for the wider organization. 

 

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience with relevant AI and ML engineering practices.

  • Proven track record of implementing successful prompt engineering strategies in production environments. 

  • Experience with A/B testing and experimental design for prompt optimization. 

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing prompt iterations. 

  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python , HTML 

  • Familiarity with Node.JS, JavaScript , Snowflake, Databricks is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with AI ethics and bias mitigation strategies in language models. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,with a knack for crafting clear and concise instructions. 

  • Ability to quickly understand business requirements from different domains, processes. 

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Strong analytics and problem solving skills 

  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects. 

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on AI applications. 

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $164,492 to $220,660 per year and in Seattle, WA is $172,282 to $231,110 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
