Position Title: Senior Manager, Global Solution Engineering

Location: Singapore

Your role 

This role requires advanced sales and technical skills to support Digital Realty's diverse global customer base. As a Senior Manager in Sales Engineering, you will lead efforts across multiple functions, working closely with your peers to deliver pre-sales functional support to prospective customers. You will drive strategic engagements, leveraging your expertise in electrical engineering to meet customer needs. This position provides an opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Digital Realty’s cutting-edge solutions to customer data gravity and AI challenges and gain comprehensive exposure to the dynamic data center industry.

What you’ll do 

  • Leading prospect engagements, including being the primary responder to customer RFPs, preparing for site tours, sales calls, proposal generation, pricing, and contract negotiations.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of customer needs, designing, and presenting preliminary solutions that address their requirements.
  • Acquiring an in-depth understanding of facility infrastructure and the nuances associated with various buildings.
  • Employing state-of-the-art CFD modeling software for cooling architecture analysis, and using AutoCAD to assist customers in designing the most efficient data center layouts.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing facility construction and engineering drawings with customers to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Engaging with the professional community by attending technical forums, presenting papers at industry events, and staying updated on the latest technology trends.
  • Supporting the administration and development of training programs for the Sales Engineering Team to enhance team capabilities and service quality.
  • Spending a significant amount of time in the field, primarily at data centers, and being prepared to support data centers in other markets as needed.

What you’ll need

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in designing mission-critical, high-tech facilities, data centers or related fields.
  • Strong technical understanding in Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure in data center buildings, provisioning/configuration of M&E, BMS, Fire protection systems within white space. Familiarity with design and construction processes is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage with customers effectively, particularly in technical discussions.
  • Experience in project management, including document management and project tracking, with a strong organizational capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Previous experience in product management, business development, or consulting in IT infrastructure or related industries.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese, both spoken and written.
  • Comfort in public speaking and presenting to groups, with the ability to lead tours and provide technical information to large audiences.
  • 2-3 years of sales or operations experience in data center industry.
