Job Description

Isobar Public Sector is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer who is passionate about developing and deploying content rich web applications, APIs, services, and scripts. Ideal candidates will have full-stack resources and cloud native development experience working with microservices in an AWS environment. You will be working with a strong team to bring the latest technology to customers.

Isobar works with the Air Force, DoD, and other Federal agencies on some of the most advanced projects in the world today. Our work has real-world impacts, such as facilitating the evacuation of civilians from Afghanistan in the largest single-day military evacuation of civilians in history. What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain applications deployed in Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions.
  • Use DevSecOps methodology to quickly develop, secure, and deploy changes.
  • Integrate enterprise security solutions into application services.
  • Employ design patterns that enable code simplicity, user needs, and future maintainability.
  • Participate in system analysis, design, implementation, test, and maintenance of a variety of applications.
  • Design, develop, and deploy software in accordance with industry best practices. This includes, but is not limited to, following 12 Factor App development practices (12factor.net), cloud-native (cncf.io), NIST Risk Management Framework, and deploying software with zero downtime.

Who You Are

  • A US Citizen and possess a DoD Secret Clearance (or be eligible to obtain one).
  • 5+ years of software development experience, specifically with relational databases such as MariaDB, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • 5+ years of software development experience with one or more of these languages:
    • Java
    • Python
    • Go
    • Rust
    • Node.JS
  • 3+ years of software development experience with Javascript and one or more of these related technologies:
    • React
    • Build systems such as Grunt, webpack, vite, npm
    • AngularJS
  • Demonstrated implementation of microservices, container, and cloud-native application development.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes or Openshift, and related container platform ecosystems.
  • Strong experience integrating enterprise security solutions into application services.
  • Profound understanding and experience of release engineering and continuous delivery processes. Expert-level grasp of static code analysis, unit testing and test-driven development, security testing, and automated test frameworks. Familiarity with GitLab CI, SonarQube, GIT, and Cesium.
  • Agile methodology experience, especially with Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Solid understanding of Amazon AWS cloud; AWS developer certification or Cloud Native (CKAD) certification is a significant plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality and consistent systems and environments for development teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
