Datavant is looking for DevOps engineers who love big data, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and who share our drive to transform the healthcare industry. In exchange for your time and talent, we'll give you ownership and an unprecedented amount of project ownership from day one.

As DevOps Engineer at Datavant, you will be involved in designing and building infrastructure solutions and automations to increase scalability, security and engineering productivity. You will help define the best practices and methodologies for infrastructure setup, upgrade, automation and maintenance, while collaborating closely with peers. You will be a hands-on contributor to the DevOps team addressing our company’s cloud infrastructure, CI-CD, observability, security and automation with exceptional decision-making freedom!

You Will:

• You will collaborate with Privacy Experts to design effective solutions for production infrastructure. 
• Automate infrastructure provisioning (prefer infrastructure-as-code), DevOps, and continuous integration/delivery
• Build tools, processes, scripts, and workflows that help accelerate the expert and engineering teams so we can provide excellent service to our customers and build better products faster
• Mentor other software engineers, data scientists and privacy experts on devops best practices
• Participate and improve general infrastructure, software development, deployment, and operations

You Will Bring To The Table:

• You are exceptional at writing scalable, production-ready code (Python or Go preferred)
• Experience with standard security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management
• Knowledge of AWS services and management including containerization (Docker), container orchestration (EKS, GKE, AKS), and data processing (Athena, EMR)
• build and maintain infrastructure through code (IaC)
• Great at working with non-artificial intelligence: good team player, and exceptional communicator
• Passionate about building a big business that transforms the healthcare industry
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excited about the ambiguity of an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing company, and able to juggle many projects and responsibilities
• 2+ years of relevant DevOps engineering experience
• Experience or interest  in one or more of the following areas: authentication and authorization, network security, web application security, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, test automation (especially E2E tests and associated environment setup), designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures.
• Experience with big data processing, security and compliance is a benefit
