Websites Developer - Frontend

The WebOps Team builds and maintains the public Datadog websites. We use Hugo/11ty, AWS, GCP, Gitlab, Terraform, Serverless, and of course Datadog itself. As a Frontend Developer on the team, you will produce pixel-perfect digital assets, ensuring they are always fast, correct, available, and represent the voice of Datadog. You will assist in launching and expanding static sites, developing design system components, building out new features with our Brand Design team, and improving our Frontend codebase. This is a creative role where your work will have huge exposure and impact – we receive tens of thousands of views in a day.

What You’ll Do: 

• Frontend development using Hugo/11ty static site generators, Webpack/ESBuild, SCSS, Vanilla JS, Bootstrap/TailwindCSS
• Build new areas of our corporate sites: new pages, templates, and UI elements using modern frameworks, tooling, and tests
• Optimize the performance of Datadog’s public-facing web sites
• Audit and improve site hygiene for SEO and user experience
• Experiment with and optimize on-page elements and site navigation

Who You Are: 

• You can build responsive, modern web pages with HTML, Sass, and Javascript ES6+ and / or Node
• You have approximately 2-4 years+ of web development, working on a large, public website
• You are fanatical about details: code style, exact rendering, performance, and good design
• You have experience working with or implementing design systems
• You have experience with Hugo, 11ty, or other static site generator

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $81,000 - $131,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
