Senior Pre-Sales Engineer

As a Solutions Architect, you will own the technical data strategy of our sales process, working hand in hand with your sales counterpart. You will be a trusted technical advisor for your customers and work with the product team as an advocate of your customers in the field. Through your experience in Big Data Architecture and industry knowledge, you will help our customers achieve tangible data-driven outcomes through the use of our Unified Data Analytics Platform, helping them to innovate faster and make better use of their data to solve real-world problems, such as renewable energy and even developing the next generation of medicine. You will report to the Field Engineering Manager for MEA.

The impact you will have:

• You will lead your customers on a transformational journey, helping them to evaluate and adopt Databricks as part of their strategy
• You will help determine our customer's data strategy and their steps to success, with our customers and with our teams
• As an expert in the sphere of Data Analytics, you will be a trusted advisor for your customers for their data architecture, design and implementation
• You'll support your customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos and demo applications
• You'll lead your prospects through understanding the value, the evaluation and adoption of Databricks
• You'll engage with the data community by leading workshops, seminars and meet-ups
• Together with your account executive, you will form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory to deliver technical and business value

What we look for:

• Comfortable with navigating customer and partner hierarchies and building relationships with executives and influencers.
• Passionate about working as part of a team to orchestrate success for your customer
• Present a convincing point-of-view to important decision-makers that leads them down a path of success.
• Experience in customer-facing pre-sales or consulting roles with clients at different levels from leadership to technical teams to make them successful
• Experience creating customer-facing collateral and displaying expertise in customer or industry events
• Experience designing architectures within a public cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark
• Comfortable writing code in either Python, Scala or Java
• A core strength in either Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science or Data Warehouse is advantageous
• Nice to have: Databricks Certification
