Automation Chief Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Chief Design Engineer in the Automation discipline to our Plant Engineering unit. You will be located in any of our Cyient locations in Finland (Vaasa, Espoo, Oulu, Pietarsaari, Tampere or Turku).

As a Chief Design Engineer are you in charge of the technical project management and engineering activities within the Automation discipline.

You are collaborating with colleagues and customers globally while being part of interesting project deliveries in different industries.

Your main tasks will be:

• Discipline lead engineering for Automation in international projects
• Manage and report quality, schedule and cost of engineering discipline
• Lead the discipline and the engineering team members
• Manage communication with stakeholders
• Work in the customer interface in the Automation area
• Manage subcontracted engineering work in projects
• Support site and workshop activities when needed

Qualifications needed:

• M.Sc or B.Sc degree in engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Automation or control engineering
• Self-driven and systematic working style with problem solving ability
• Familiar with engineering tools in the Automation discipline
• Knowledge of process automation or electrification is an advantage
• Fluent spoken and written communication skills in English. Other language skills are advantage
• Willingness to travel
