What We’re Looking for 

The security engineering manager role is critical at Cross River. It will report to the Chief Security Information Officer to perform essential security engineering tasks, including leading the security team, implementing hands-on tasks to improve system security controls and firewall configuration, and designing digital security protocols to protect sensitive information. The Security Engineering manager will also work with business and technology to ensure tool adoption, control adherence, and provide ongoing support.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
  • Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
  • Design application security controls to align with application architecture
  • Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
  • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, MIS, or Management
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field
  • Industry certifications: CISSP, S+, SANS Certifications
  • Five or more years of work experience as a System Security Engineer or related position
  • in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and standards
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks (such as PCI DSS)
  • Hands-on experience with FW configuration (palo-alto / Fortinet )
  • Network security protocols and technologies (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems)
  • Experience managing security in AWS
  • experience in high-tech/software development organizations.
  • Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of database security
  • Encryption solutions and cryptographic protocols (KMS/HSM)
  • Security information and event management (SIEM) systems
  • Knowledge of security systems, including endpoint protection applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems, and intrusion detection and notification systems
  • In-depth understanding of security protocols and principles
  • Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) & Digital Rights Management (DRM)
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.

Salary Range: $180,000.00 - $230,000.00
