As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be building the next generation of digital financial services. You’ll have the ability to impact hundreds of thousands of customers with new features that we’re pushing every month. You’ll work with some of the sharpest minds on utilizing bleeding edge architectural design patterns and coding standards. Most importantly, your goal will be pushing rock solid features out in a disciplined and production ready fashion.

You'll...

  • Plan, design, and architect new functionality on our Backend application.
  • Ship industry disruptive features to production using test driven development.
  • Advocate for new tools, best practices, and approaches that the team and technology should be taking
  • Craft  beautiful API endpoints that are a pleasure for our developers to work with
  • Conduct constructive code reviews of functionality going into the codebase.
  • Collaborate with the mobile and web teams to design and anticipate their needs
  • Provide visibility and feedback to the product management team around feature definition, delivery timing, and challenges.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the codebase and refactor to guarantee a highly maintainable and enjoyable codebase.

  • You’ve made substantial contributions to the fundamental backend architecture of your previous companies and projects.
  • You’ve shipped performant production APIs in your career, and are well accustomed with the long term pills and trade offs when making architectural decisions.
  • You believe that your code lives and dies by the tests you write, and are a big advocate for test driven development.
  • You approach API Design like a true craftsman, being thoughtful of parameters, operations, architecture, and consistency.
  • You’ve worked as a backend software engineer working in an agile environment for at least 2+ years.
  • You have 3+ years of experience with Node.JS.
  • you have experience with Docker and containerized applications.
  • you are familiar with Express.JS
  • you are familiar with both non-relational and relational database design (MongoDB, or SQL based DB’s)
  • you have experience with version control tools (i.e Github) and defect tools (i.e JIRA).
  • you have experience with performance testing and profiling highly scalable backend apps.
  • you have the ability to adapt in a fast changing environment, and work well within a cross functional team.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience or master degree with 5+ years of experience

  • Experience with Open API (formerly Swagger) 
  • Distributed microservices architecture experience
  • Event-oriented and choreography architecture experience 
  • Experience with OWASP Top 10 and best practices for API Security 
  • Experience with POSTMAN
  • Experience with Kubernetes, and cloud nave application infrastructure
