Senior Software Engineer, Platform (US - Remote)

Senior Software Engineer 

We are looking for a senior engineer to join our Platform team. This role will report to Joe Barnett, Senior Director of Engineering. This is a unique position and requires a talented individual who can create and innovate within ambiguity. We are looking for someone who’s a problem solver, who speaks code, and does not blindly follow requirements . 

What you will do: 

• Brainstorm with the product team to understand real-world business problems and build scalable solutions to address them
• Develop efficient and maintainable code in Python with occasional forays into Javascript with Vue.js or Kotlin
• Design and implement data models utilizing Django and PostgreSQL
• Build scalable services across Heroku and AWS
• Apply great software development practices and actively contribute to production code, reviews, and tests
• Help build the next generation of data products at CIQ

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:

• You have 3+ years of experience building, releasing and maintaining software on production systems
• You have used Django or comparable frameworks to build production services
• You have deep experience with Python or the willingness to learn with a Ruby/Java/etc foundation 
• You Have shipped a software product or features in a software product
• You are motivated by solving complex technical problems
• You love learning new skills and teaching others
