Software Engineer, Frontend

Public procurement is the process that turns $2 trillion of our taxpayer dollars into the specific goods and services that support our communities like school food, road maintenance, on-time public transit, fire suppression, vaccination roll-outs, and more. The slow speed and high expense of public procurement disproportionately affects vulnerable populations who depend on government services. Today, public employees largely rely on technology from the 90s to make purchasing decisions. And, because the purchasing process is so slow and expensive, many of our country’s best companies don’t even consider selling into the government market. CoProcure takes the friction out of buying and selling in government to help public servants deliver better, faster public services from a more diverse set of businesses.

About this role

We’re recruiting a product-minded, frontend-focused software engineer who will collaborate closely with design and product to ship new user-facing workflows and set the standard for frontend engineering excellence at CoProcure. This is a chance to own a frontend codebase, lead with best practices in Javascript, and collaborate closely to co-design and build delightful user flows. You’ll have a large amount of autonomy, ownership in the product’s development, and leadership responsibility.

You may be a fit for this role if you:

• Have deep expertise in frontend Javascript, including React, and are excited to take ownership of a production frontend codebase.
• Have a keen eye for visual detail and significant experience working closely with designers. 
• Are willing and able to dive into backend Python as necessary to support your frontend work.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. You’re comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and autonomy.
• Are excited to have an outsized impact on our company and on the social and business consequences of making government more efficient.

This is a full-time role based in San Francisco, CA. We support a hybrid work environment: most of our team members spend 3 days in the office and the other days working from home.

Responsibilities:

• Build new features, products, and systems for our users.
• Collaborate to identify and prioritize the most impactful improvements to our product.
• Work closely with design to plan and implement delightful user flows.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of full-time, relevant industry experience in frontend software engineering, including 1+ year of professional experience with React.
• Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.
• Ability to turn high-level product  requirements into clear deliverables with a design system and minimal guidance.
• An understanding of or desire to learn intuitive, user-facing patterns and interactions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Passion for impact.

Annual Base Salary Range: $110k - $128k
