Job Summary
As an Engineer 2 on the Enterprise FinTech team, you will be responsible for contributing and managing new innovations in project activities, while helping with troubleshooting and resolving operational issues that manage FinTech processes across the company.The FinTech team is positioned between core infrastructure development teams and daily systems and business operations teams. We work with systems administrators, software engineers, and vendor teams to ensure the systems are performing at or above targeted goals. FinTech is a diverse collection of operational engineers and architects that reside both here and in other countries and are focused on raising the bar on how to implement and manage capabilities and process that that are meant to improve operational excellence for FinTech.
In your role, you will help to bridge the gap between development and operations teams. This involves working with various teams to identify and trace defects to root cause, then implement capabilities to ensure the issue is resolved and monitored. You will also be working with some of the best and brightest minds in Comcast to develop, implement, and manage scripts to automate the execution of capabilities, collect and report on data, escalate to various operations teams for resolution, and even automate corrections to improve inventory accuracy for various business teams. Success in this role is characterized by low inventory variances, and improved visibility to inventory across the company for planning and product lifecycle management.

Analyzes and determines integration needs.
Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
Edits and reviews technical requirements documentation.
Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair all but the most complex issues. Performs maintenance activities with a minimum of supervision and guidance. Leads technical outage bridges and engages appropriate resources to drive issues to closure.
Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies and processes. Ensures projects and initiatives are adhering to Company standards.
Acts as a technical resource in projects and initiatives and ensures successful project implementation.
Analyses problems in design, configuration, data flow and data state within a highly complex multi-product provisioning system.
Performs routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering and ensures all maintenance is properly validated to minimize impact.
Provides training and guidance to less experienced team members.
Attains industry standard certifications and education.

Bachelor’s degree in engineer, logistics, or a related field
0 - 1 years programming experience as a FinTech systems engineer in a similar industry
Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python and Javascript
Experience writing core programming languages such as Java or C/ C++
Experience with CI/CD applications such as GitHub, Jenkins to manage application code
Understanding on how to scale applications depending on load
Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Azure MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
Experience with web application development including dynamic HTML, CSS, and JS integration
Advanced proficiency in industry-related FinTech management software
In-depth knowledge of FinTech analytics and KPI measurement
Extensive experience in FinTech analysis and optimization
Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution
Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment
Superb collaboration and communication abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
