Job Summary

This position is for a lead platform Senior Developer for the Business Services Integration Platforms (Orion Middleware and CSP).
The Orion platform is the next generation BSS/OSS integration system to support the growth of Business Services in Comcast. The CSP is the Legacy BSS/OSS integration system. This position is responsible for the Orion/Legacy Integration Development and lifecycle management of Commercial integration and services framework for the Commercial business of Comcast. The integration domain will consist of multiple applications and services related to Commercial Business and Operations Support Systems including Fulfillment (Marketing, Sales, Ordering, Order Management, Provisioning etc…), Assurance, and Billing. In a future state this integration layer will evolve into a unified integration platform for Commercial Mid-Market, Enterprise and SMB streams of Business. At an application level this layer integrates a full Amdocs stack of applications with more than 30+ Comcast internal and Comcast external applications supporting Comcast Business.

Job Description

The candidate in this role will define and manage the integration Development strategy and complex cloud-based integration platform that interacts with various processes, data, and services layers.  The candidate will be responsible for functional and technical designs and development to address current and future needs of the business both in the Gen2/Legacy Business streams and Next Gen Business streams.  The candidate will assume primary Development lead and liaison for all functional and technical matters related to the Orion integration services platform. The candidate is responsible for technical evolution of the platform such as transformation to AWS/Azure/Google cloud from Cloud Foundry. The candidate also will lead a team of integration developers. The candidate comes with a substantial knowledge in BSS/OSS with good understanding of Comcast Business products suite covering video, voice and data such as, Ethernet, BI, Advanced Voice (PRI/SIP), BVE, BV, Static IP, Hospitality, SDWAN, Cell Backhaul , Dark Fiber etc.

The candidate would be a technical leader, an impact player and will work closely with product owners, business analysts, other domain component and End to End solution architects, Orion workstream leads and program stakeholders, vendors, and customers to define the current and future roadmap of Orion integration services platform as well as establishing and enforcing best practices for the integration domain.  The candidate must demonstrate expertise and thought leadership in the integration domain with a vision to innovate and evolve the platform to a next generation technological level of efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's and/or master’s in computer science/information technology.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in software applications
  • Proven Java programming and Microservices skills and a good understanding of Platform fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles
  • Knowledge in encryption technologies and protocols
  • Familiarity with source control systems (GitHub)
  • Proficiency in Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (Jenkins, Concourse)
  • Deep understanding of the HTTP/S protocol
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • A strong passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Critical thinking and independent problem-solving abilities.
  • Supports the technical/functional recommendations based on the features of new enhancement packages, competitive applications, and products.
  • Professional collaboration in multi-company open-source industry projects.
  • Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • 4 plus years of experience in Cloud Technologies, preferably Cloud Foundry.
  • Extensive knowledge in Kafka, Kibana, MySQL and MongoDB.
  • Observe industry software development best practices: coding style/conventions, code reviews, static analysis, unit/integration tests, version control, etc.
  • Actively participate in design/code reviews providing feedback to ensure functionality, coding standards, accuracy, and testability targets are met.
  • Participate in Agile process ceremonies providing input for task definition, work estimates, planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to less experienced content protection engineers.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance of deployed products.
  • Participate in troubleshooting/debug investigations and resolution efforts when necessary.
  • Pursue an active learning approach to content security, staying up to date on industry knowledge, trends, best practices, and disseminates information to team members.
  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
  • Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and rollouts of software releases.
  • Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
