Senior Backend Software Engineer, Data Quality Security

Joining Collibra’s Data Quality team:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer who will help pave the way for how consumers of data understand what quality data means for their business. We need someone who is excited about working on cutting edge technologies with a team leading the charge in processing meaningful data at scale and with a purpose. You will be part of a cohesive engineering team that focuses on results and continuous improvement. Collibra is building some new-age tech, and this role will be a key component of that exciting growth.

You will join an Engineering team reporting to the Data Quality Directory of Engineering to work on high priority items both short and long term ranging from Pen Test Analysis and Solutions to CVE testing and Maven Library management. You will be a lead engineer for this project and oversee that the designs and implementation are pragmatic and of high quality.

Senior Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

• Developing high quality code, including participating in testing and maintenance of that code
• Collaborating with Product Management, Design, Architecture, and other Engineers to help estimate work, design scalable and performant solutions that will delight our customers, and produce high quality production-grade software
• Applying pragmatic engineering approaches to deliver value to customers
• Being seen as a leading engineer who focuses and aligns on the team objectives
• Leveraging your experience and knowledge to mentor other Engineers

You Have:

• At least 6 years of experience developing in Java and 8+ years programming
• Experience with Spring Security, Java libraries and Application Security
• Worked with Tomcat datasources, connection pooling and multi-tenancy architectures
• Experience developing access controls with SAML 2.0 and OAuth2, and REST API JWT
• Experience using Java data encryption methods for storing sensitive data encrypted at rest
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• Someone who puts quality first, has a passion for good design and clean code, and is vehement about security best practices
• Able to work productively with a geographically distributed remote team and able to mentor and advise other engineers you work with on the scrum team
• Accustomed to a fast paced environment and have extensive knowledge of enterprise level software architecture components and infrastructure
• Analytical and methodical with problem solving and organizational skills

Measures of success:

• Within your first month, you will get familiar with the environment we use, the way we implement software as an organization, simple business use cases and submit code to production.
• Within your third month, you will implement new user stories with quality and care, and understand what value they will bring to our customers. You will start providing input on how best to move the product forward and improve the product.
• Within your sixth month, you will be a lead engineer of the Data Quality team, regularly delivering quality code, participating in testing, and ensuring good, scalable, pragmatic engineering practices are followed by the team.

Compensation for This Role

The standard base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $209,000 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
