By instrumenting code, establishing Service Level Objectives, and making telemetry available to a broad variety of consumers across the business through our Cloud Native Observability stack, you will help Collibra support data citizens to make their data meaningful.
  • Site Reliability Engineers deliver value by building and delivering tools that enable a consistent approach to observability and scalability and work to advocate for sound reliability practices within our Engineering community.
  • As a member of the SRE team, you will partner closely with engineering and product teams to improve the stability and availability of our cloud services to deliver a reliable customer experience.

SRE's at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Driving capacity and performance analysis of production systems by recommending changes to software and infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Building and helping drive the roadmap of Collibra’s observability tooling, including our telemetry backbone, ensuring the availability and performance of this mission critical infrastructure.
  • Responding to issues and incidents with production systems and supporting our Cloud Operations team members to understand and remediate problems proactively.

You Have:

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science or similar.
  • 5+ years experience in software engineering (Golang preferred) and systems (Linux preferred).
  • 4+ Hands-on experience operating enterprise software as as service (SaaS) on public cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Experience with common observability tools - Grafana, OpenTelemetry, DataDog, Prometheus, the Elastic Observability stack or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

You Are:

  • Familiar with applying software engineering approaches to cloud operations and infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Able to work collaboratively with software development teams to better understand their software components and make them more observable.
  • Comfortable working autonomously to identify opportunities to improve the performance and scalability Collibra services.
  • Motivated by the challenge of scaling a growing company.
  • Focused on the signal and not the noise in data.
  • Because this role supports the U.S. Government, it is required that this candidate be a U.S. Citizen who resides on U.S. soil.

Measuring Success:

  • Within your first month, you will gain an understanding of the Collibra products, our personas and the most common user workflows associated with them.
  • Within your third month, you will be an active member of our scrum team, and be comfortable with the SRE team’s processes and begin to explore improvements to our operational model.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be actively developing improvements for the SRE team’s tooling and product instrumentation, responding to issues and incidents in production and partnering with Engineers in other teams to drive the company’s goals forward.
