DevOps Engineer

About This Role

Cohesity IT is looking for passionate, out-of-the-box thinkers who take pride in building highly secure, robust, and scalable infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for you to contribute and build DevOps and Site Reliability functionality in a multi-cloud, multi-data center hybrid infrastructure. You will be working closely with the information security, production services, and the data center networking team to drive strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance and delivery of enterprise-grade IT production infrastructure, using a combination of Cloud and virtualization technologies. 
• Build automation workflows for self-service and auto-healing capabilities. Automate operational tasks as much as possible.
• Responsible for site reliability, performing comprehensive routine operations for IT infrastructure at scale, such as monitoring, logging, system hardening, patching, performance tuning up, backup, and restore.
• Build and maintain the business continuity workflow of IT production infrastructure according to defined RTO/RPO targets, conduct quarterly testing, and improve over time. 
• Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex system issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support a 24x7 production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience supporting production IT/Engineering infrastructure, including
• Minimum 3 years of Linux/Unix administration experience
• Minimum 3 years of VMware administration experience
• Minimum 3 years of Windows Server administration experience, proficient with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• Expert understanding with at least one of the platform above (10/10)
• Proficient in at least one scripting language. (Python, Shell, PowerShell, Perl)
• Proficient in at least one configuration management system. (Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef)
• Solid networking knowledge, ability to troubleshoot issues across the OSI stack
• Demonstrated ability in using the data-driven methodology to troubleshoot diverse scope of problems
• Ability to work with little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments and projects
• Strong ability to research and self-learning
• Able to occasionally work evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advance notice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of manage production cloud infrastructure, such as GCP, AWS, Azure
• Large scale deployment experience with VMware environment
