Software Engineer - Open Source

Coder is dedicated to keeping developers in flow by removing obstacles that prevent us from writing code at the speed of thought. Our open-source software is deployed by some of the world’s largest organizations, enabling secure, cost-efficient, and autonomous development on any compute platform.

The team we are hiring for drives the extensibility of our core product through plugin development, API integration, and community engagement. Our projects have 80k+ stars on GitHub and are used by developers all over the globe. We enjoy tinkering with new technologies and engaging directly with our users to make meaningful software.

A little about you:

• 4+ years of recent open source coding experience writing code in a professional setting

• Strong, hands on and recent experience in Typescript and React

• Experience maintaining libraries or plugins and are able to write opinionated, yet flexible components for external users

• You believe that code worth writing is code worth testing

• Your enthusiasm for code review matches your passion for feature development

We will be even more excited if you have:

• Hands-on experience with Kotlin

• Experience with Golang or other similar backend languages liked C++, Python, Rust, etc.

• A background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or infrastructure

• Thrived in a start-up environment

Interview Process 

We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. Our goal is to complete the entire process in two full weeks if schedules allow. During this time, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and a company leader. If you interview for a position requiring a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time.
