Senior Software Engineer, Mobile

About the role

The Chime mobile team is chartered with crafting the primary interface between the company and our users. In particular, this team will be creating an innovative and delightful experience that sets new members up for success within the Chime ecosystem. We believe first impressions matter and supporting our members through seamless, performant, educational experiences, will help them achieve better financial health throughout their journey with Chime.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $167,200 and up to $232,200. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

• Design, develop, test, release, and scale new and existing consumer product features and mobile architecture
• Act as the senior mobile leader within your immediate organization, ensuring that our architecture is scalable and delivers consistently high-quality experiences across all platforms
• Set high standards for quality, efficiency, and reliability by collaborating with QA teams and fostering the development of engineers across the organization
• Proactively collaborate across teams and functions to identify and address complex problems, ensuring strategic technical decisions are made that support the long-term health and reliability of our systems

To thrive in this role, you have

• A strong empathy for the users of the products you create. 
• A minimum of 6 years experience in mobile development (Bonus: React Native).
• Experience with React Native or native iOS and Android
• Experience leading execution of complex projects involving multiple engineers
• Experience building mobile apps with traffic at scale. Ability to architect, refactor, and debug an app without disrupting and introducing regressions to 100,000s of users is a big plus. 
• Experience analyzing a feature in production using analytics and experiments
• A strong focus on high-quality mobile UI experiences
• Start-up experience as an added plus!
