Our storefront engineering team @Chewy is focused on building solutions that guide pet lovers in making their best, most informed decisions to purchase products that their pets love, every single day. We are focusing on analytics of our website. As an engineer in the storeftont-analytics team, you will work with a talented group of software and data engineers, product managers and business leaders in an Agile environment to develop and improve our customer’s experience on the website. Our team’s mission is to capture and enable access to web analytics, clickstream and experimentation data, thus empowering stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and provide a world-class e-commerce experience for Pet Parents. You will learn how web development and analytics come together to create one of the most trusted websites in the United States.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, deploy and scale major web applications and components
• Guide and mentor junior engineers to deliver the best quality code through design and code reviews
• Build a culture of innovation through rapid prototyping and continuous delivery to production 
• Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos and retros 
• Adhere to enterprise design and coding standards
• Setup operational tools such as alerts, monitors, logging, and health checks
• Hands-on development work spending a significant percentage of time writing code, performing code reviews, or troubleshooting

What You’ll Need:

• 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience in web development
• 3+ years of experience with deep knowledge in JavaScript
• Strong experience in front-end development, particularly in single-page application development, using js or similar JavaScript frameworks
• Knowledge of modern build tooling (e.g. webpack, browserify)
• Frontend development experience with a solid understanding of analytics and instrumentation of tags
• Working knowledge of site optimization, product development, usability or UX 
• A good understanding of the e-commerce domain and analytics
• Exposure to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or Adobe Analytics
• Experience with A/B testing & experimentation tools like Optimizely, Evidently
• Experience applying builds and test automation to improve a development team’s efficiency and reliability
• Good understanding of web security standards, customer privacy, and compliance requirements
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
