Mobile Quality Engineer

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Native Mobile Apps Engineering Team based. The ideal candidate is more than just your average manual tester. You will use an analytical approach to test our Mobile Apps (iOS, Android).

You are passionate about quality and you have the ability to create, maintain and execute test plans in order to verify requirements. You have experience with mobile app testing, Integration and API testing, which will require a good depth and breadth of technical knowledge.

What you'll do:

While working within an Agile environment, you will work with Developers, Technical Project Managers and Designers to identify proper and effective testing strategies, beginning in the planning phases of a feature.

• You can analyze a user story and identify ambiguities, gaps and risks that have not yet been considered
• You are able to identify important information about our product and have the ability to effectively articulate this to our stakeholders.
• Monitor existing defects and bring them to closure
• Play a major role in championing the importance in quality improvement across all areas of the SDLC
• Work with the Automation Engineering team to identify high-value areas for automation
• Analyze test results and understand the root cause of defects
• Become a SME on our Mobile Apps and related applications including our Storefront, Back office and other applications for a complete end-to-end testing solution
• Have a deep understanding of functional, system, integration, API and end-to-end testing
• May require travel

What you'll need:

• BS Degree in Computer Science or similar area
• 2-3 years' experience in eCommerce or retail
• 3-5 years' experience in Quality Engineering and testing using a variety of techniques and methodologies
• SQL knowledge for database enhancements and data validation
• In depth debugging skills for finding root cause of defects as a preventative method for defects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge in Test Case Management
• Ability to work on multiple projects and be able to juggle work based on changing priorities 

Bonus:

• Test Automation scripting
• Experience with XCTest, Espresso or a similar automation tool.
• Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, Slack, TestRail)
• Experience with Git-Flow or similar CI/Build tool
