Software Automation Engineer

As a Software Developer supporting manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between innovative software solutions and the manufacturing industry's operational needs. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and implementing software programs that enhance manufacturing processes, improve production efficiency, and ensure product quality. Working closely with engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders, you will analyze manufacturing challenges and develop custom software solutions to address them. This may involve creating systems for process automation, real-time monitoring of production activities, and data analysis. Your contribution will be essential in streamlining operations, reducing costs, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in manufacturing through software technologies. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in software engineering, experience with programming languages relevant to industrial applications, and a passion for solving complex problems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop and support software test automation and infrastructure
• Continuous improvement of test coverage, performance and speed
• Break down complex systems into testable sub blocks
• Play a vital role in raising the quality of software and identifying areas of risk
• Create an easy-to-use interface for operations to run automation workflows
• Cross-functional work across multiple teams to identify and root-cause improve processes

Requirements

• B.S. degree with 5+ years of software development experience
• At least 3+ years of collaborative development in Python specific to testing
• Working with Git, Continuous Integration (Jenkins) and Agile development processes
• Writing high quality testable code and following good software practices

Desirable

• Strong Python background with familiar with OOP styles
• Ability to root cause failures across multilayer software/hardware stacks
• Familiar with Linux, Shell, Make and Unit Test Framework
• Capable of working on remote systems, AWS instances and distributed systems
