Celonis is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to improve and support our major on-premises Process Mining application, keep high satisfaction level, provide smooth migration and transition path to our Execution Management System SaaS solution.
Our Java applications are built on the most recent Java 11(currently migrating to Java 17), the modern frameworks and libraries, like Spring (Boot) and Hibernate, so expertise in these areas is highly desirable.
The work you’ll do:
- Working on 2 different projects:
- Temporary on-premises (about 20% of the time) until all customers migrated to a cloud-based solution
- Main Celonis cloud services (rest of the time)
- Taking ownership of the full on-premises product lifecycle: investigating, implementing, building and delivering to customers
- Support and maintain the project stability and security, update dependencies, implement new standards and protocols
- Increase the reliability of our software continuously
- Support on-premises customers in their path migrating to the modern cloud-based Celonis EMS platform
- Improving & automating our development processes
- Assisting Level 3 Support for customers investigating and resolving complex problems
- Technical leading and guiding the project team
The qualifications you need:
- 7+ years of experience in building JAVA web applications professionally
- Experience in Spring Boot and Hibernate
- Write clear, understandable and testable code with continuous focus on stability and maintainability
- Good communicative skills, experience in small engineering team leading
- Able to supervise and coach junior and mid-level colleagues
- Strong English skills
Highly desired:
- Possibility to “switch context” between different projects: temporary on-premises and cloud based
- Experience on working face-to-face with to support them resolving complex technical issues
- Experience in Windows and Linux OS management, knowing standard tools, commands, services and permissions management, debugging and profiling tools, reading application and system logs
- Experience profiling and debugging in web browsers (debugging JS calls, tracing network calls, exporting sessions)
- Knowledge of common enterprise integration tools and protocols (SSO, SAML, web SSL, JDBC configuration)
