The Financial Engineering team at Cedar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will provide financial and data engineering support for key business priorities and lead critical workstreams in financial planning and analytics!

This includes owning the company-wide financial data strategy, modeling, tooling, analytics, and reconciliation support, in partnership with key multi-functional partners. This individual will work across multiple teams at Cedar, including Finance, Product, Data Engineering, etc. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver and experienced data engineer, who is passionate about the details and enjoys finding engineering solutions to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, product managers, and business development teams to understand financial data needs and transform these into usable data products.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for financial applications and the central data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with Finance Ops and Data Analytics to build dashboards for sharing critical financial insights with key business partners.
  • Partner with FP&A to define forecasting models and implement them in the forecasting applications (or in data pipelines)
  • Capture market/industry data using external data vendors
  • Support reconciliation and ensure our billing is reconciled between internal payment data, Stripe, NetSuite, Bill.com, etc.

Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years of demonstrated ability in software engineering, data engineering, and/or financial engineering.
  • Strong coding skills, and proficiency in Python. Experience with ORM tools such as SQL Alchemy.
  • Software/data engineering experience. Strong knowledge of SQL, RESTful APIs, system design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with data warehouse or data lake solutions such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift
  • Demonstrates a passion for breaking down and understanding complex systems and data structures
  • A great teammate with excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and find comfort in ambiguity

  • Strong computer science fundamentals - a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or similar experience

Preferred Skills and Experiences

  • Experience with core financial processes combined with knowledge of standard finance systems (e.g., NetSuite) and CRMs (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Experience with payment processors such as Stripe, Worldpay, TrustCommerce

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Compensation Range and Benefits
  • Salary Range*: $195,500 - $230,000
  • This role is equity eligible
