Description
Career Karma is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to join the team and lead the design and development of web applications with a focus on integrating AI capabilities. In this role, you'll drive technical excellence by aligning the software and systems to the overall technical strategy.

If you have over 10 years of full-stack or back-end software engineering experience, a strong background in implementing AI solutions, and experience with LangChain, LangSmith, RAG, Multi-agency designs, and R&D projects, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and the implementation of AI Capabilities into the web applications.
  • Be accountable for aligning the software and systems in your area to the overall technical strategy, making tradeoffs where appropriate.
  • Define technical solutions or efficient operational processes that level up your team.
  • Write code that captures the essential nature of the solution and is appropriately flexible, reusable, readable & understandable, efficient, and adaptable to changing requirements.
  • Conduct AI-related spikes and R&D projects to explore new technologies and solutions.
  • Perform exemplary code reviews, drive automation testing, and teach others on the team how to do the same.
  • Be our expert in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard our applications and data.
  • Mentor your peers, helping them develop their craft.

Skills you'll need to bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in the role of full-stack  or back-end software engineer
  • Mandatory experience implementing AI solutions (prompt engineering, Multi-agent frameworks, LLMs, Conversational AI)
  • Commercial experience with Python
  • Experience with LangChain, LangSmith, RAG, Multi-agency designs
  • Experience in conducting R&D projects and technological explorations
  • Experience with JS stack: node.js
  • Postgres, Redis
  • Knowledge of security best practices in web development.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Strong English communication skills

Will be a plus:

  • Experience with GraphQL, Prisma ORM, Apollo Client, and Apollo Server
  • DevOps/Cloud experience: AWS, EC2, RDS, Docker, Concepts of Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Commercial experience with Auth0 or similar technologies
  • Experience working in architect positions
  • Nice to have: experience in early-stage startup programs (e.g. Y Combinator, 500 Startups, Techstars, The Alchemist, Thiel Fellowship, etc)
