Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

What You'll Do

• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to gain a detailed understanding of software features and contribute to design and architectural discussions.
• Build, deploy, and manage robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation frameworks for functional and non-functional testing and integrate the automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to streamline the quality process.
• Collaborate with your Agile team to understand customer usage models and develop test plans, cases and data that closely mimic real-world scenarios to assure an exceptional user experience.
• Create, automate, and run test cases for all types of functional and non-functional testing, verifying the performance, usability, scalability, and reliability of our products meets acceptable quality standards.
• Identify, log, and track defects discovered during all phases of test and provide a high level of transparency to stakeholders. Troubleshoot and diagnose any errors and points of failure.
• Perform exploratory and manual testing as necessary to ensure high test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming and provide mentorship to fellow engineers in test designs, methodologies and guidance on best practices.
• Coordinate with leadership and all parties involved in the SDLC to ensure test coverage for code deploy events.
• Produce a large amount of consistent, high-quality automation code and ensure extensive unit, API, and regression test coverage.
• Prepare and present summary test reports to stakeholders, conduct training on automation tools, and promote adoption of quality standards across the organization.

What You'll Need

• 7+ years of SDET experience with strong Javascript coding skills and a comprehensive understanding of key concepts of software quality. A Javascript coding challenge will be part of the interview process.
• Experience programming with at least one other modern language like Python, Java, C# or Swift.
• 7+ years of experience creating, running, and troubleshooting automation scripts for testing web applications, microservices, and Java applications using open-source test tools Cypress and/or Playwright.
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science or related technical field with relevant work experience.
• Must have strong fundamentals in programming languages, testing methodologies, automation, system design, object-oriented design, version control systems, database management, CI/CD pipeline, and agile methodologies.
• Expert skills creating, modifying, and maintaining Automation Framework Models such as Modular, Keyword-Driven, Data-Driven or Hybrid.
• Experience working with DevOps installing, configuring, and integrating Automation scripts on Continuous Integration (CI) tools.
• Experience working in version control systems.
• Experience with stress, performance, and load testing using jMeter or k6.
• Experience implementing quality improvement and Agile software development methodologies.
• Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills and an ability to explain concepts and solutions in simple terms.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills that drive positive outcomes.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in computer science or related technical field with relevant work experience.
• Relevant certifications from ISTQB, IIST, CSTE or similar institutions.
• AWS Cloud Certification or other cloud vendor certification and experience.
• Experience using Google Analytics, Clarity, Open Replay, or Log Rocket.
• Ability to perform complex queries in relational and non-relational databases.
• Mobile application test experience.
• Experience testing Salesforce CRM and/or Oracle Fusion applications.

What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $145K to $150K/year.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
