Built Technologies is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Built for Contractors team. This high-growth division of Built Technologies is focused on bringing multiple new products to market over the next year, with a focus on third-party integrations to make our products an indispensable part of our customers’ workflows. The Built for Contractors division is akin to a startup within Built, iterating quickly and building new organizational capabilities. We're looking for a candidate that can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact on our team and organization. With a lot of exciting work coming down our pipeline, we're in search of a proactive self starter that can serve as a point of technical expertise on the team as well as a mentor to more junior team members.
Senior Engineers at Built:
- Work on a team implementing third-party integrations that have an immediate impact for the business.
- Develop, uphold and advocate for best practices in our integrations platform to minimize and eliminate tech debt.
- Map third-party integrations to workflows in our flagship products and implement them.
- Develop in a full stack software system which includes web applications, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor more junior developers.
- Contribute to major frontend & backend features that our customers use every day.
- Develop new features and enhance existing features in one of our core domains.
- Work with Product and Design partners to refine scope on planned efforts and deliver value for our customers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with building full-stack applications, preferably in Built’s tech stack.
- Experience building production backend API’s supporting customer facing features
- A passion for building quality, testable code leveraging automation and a habit for incrementally improving the code you touch.
- A “player-coach” mentality, capable of simultaneously making strong technical contributions while mentoring others within the context of small cross-functional teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially within website, application servers,
network, and databases. - A strong focus on our customers, both internal and external.
- High ownership and accountability of delivery and your work product.
- Experience working in a growing company, Start-Up or Growth Stage
Tech Stack:
- Frontend development is built on React, Redux, TypeScript, Jest, Enzyme, Selenium.
- Services are Built on NodeJS, Python, Docker (moving to K8s), and AWS.
- Gateway APIs are built on NodeJS, using Express and TypeScript
- All code is deployed in AWS, primarily serverless (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS) and event-driven.
- Pragmatic testing at every level (unit, integration, API, end-to-end) as part of a robust CI/CD pipeline.
Built’s salary range for this position is $120,000 - $175,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees.
