Job Description:

The Role 

VMware by Broadcom (VMW by BC) Professional Services Organization (PSO) is looking for an experienced & motivated Senior Project Manager with a specialization in customer-facing projects on Applications & Network Security scope.

The Senior Project Manager position requires excellent interpersonal/comms skills with a focus on collaboration, leadership, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving. You will be responsible for leading multiple customer engagements and projects that drive adoption and usage for VMW by BCs solutions, ensuring success from initiation to completion, and employing governance over all key aspects like scope, timelines, financials, risks, changes, resources, subcontractors, and others to achieve both high project profitability and customer satisfaction. 

The ideal candidate will partner with the customer and VMW by BC internal stakeholders like Sales, Delivery Teams (Architects & Consultants), Business Operations, and other teams to manage the delivery of these projects within the scope, time, and other conditions agreed on the respective contracts/SOWs. 

The ideal candidate must be driven with a proven track record in leading customer-facing software/technology projects, working independently, holding a PMP or equivalent Project Mgmt Methodologies Certifications, with technical aptitude to acquire technical knowledge of products and services and related technologies, for a better understanding and management of these kind of projects.

Responsibilities 

• Ensure projects are well defined and planned, executed efficiently, and delivered with high quality and predictability.

• Identify and manage changes to scope, and properly execute the change management process, as an opportunity to assess further sales opportunities and expansion of PSO footprint

• Create and maintain project schedules including tasks, deliverables, and milestones with planned start and finish dates, duration, and resources assigned to each activity in a complex multi-work stream portfolio.

• Manage the budget for the work to be performed, and generate and maintain an accurate revenue forecast for a project or portfolio of projects.

• Plan, manage and execute clear and effective project communications (both verbal and written)

• Effective use of processes to identify, assess, and control threats to the success of the project.

• Consistent adherence to PMO project administration standards, policies, and deadlines (project, repository, reports, forms, etc)

• Manage internal and external cross-team dependencies and coordinate across teams on initiatives and blocking issues while appropriately escalating issues requiring attention with Delivery, Sales, Legal, or other teams.

• Manages large team projects comprising multiple roles/functions, multi-location based with multi-cultural considerations

• Maintain complete documentation and follow organizational processes to ensure successful adoption and usage of VMW by BC's products

• Collaborate with Professional Services team allocation, delegation, and assignments.

• Take ownership and accountability for projects that you will be leading. 

• Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, business flows, and solutions delivery processes.

• Participate actively in developing the ANS PSO practice by bringing together thought leadership & industry experience. 

• Actively demonstrate commercial awareness and stay within the scope of the contracted work. 

• Maintain project information including requirements, scope, deliverables, revenue forecasts, cost estimates, timelines, resource utilization, status reports, timesheets, milestones completion forms, etc.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure; being a self-starter who works both independently and as a collaborative team player

Pre-Requisites

• Location: Japan

• English and Japanese are required and fluency in additional languages in the region is desirable

• Ability to travel up to 20%

• Bachelors and 10+ years of related experience in Technology Project Mgmt with recent, real-world experience in large, complex design, deployment, and migration projects with customers (Master's Degree preferred)

• Flexibility to work on projects in different timezones across the APJ region

• PMP (Project Management Professional by PMI) or equivalent certification is required

• Industry knowledge in areas including SaaS & Cloud technologies

• Experience working within a matrix technology business, with proven expertise in engaging with a broad and diverse internal stakeholder base
