Engineering Manager - Infrastructure

You will work alongside a small and deeply hardworking engineering group, building out services that power mobile experiences for a majority of top companies around the world. Today, we are powering many billions of API transactions a day and growing rapidly.

We are looking for an experienced systems manager to continue our transformation to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within a large and complex public cloud environment. If you are passionate about building secure and reliable distributed systems, come join us!

As a Engineering Manager - Infrastructure, you'll get to:

• Mentor a highly skilled team of devops and site reliability engineers.
• Partner closely with application teams to deliver on new customer-facing features and capabilities to grow the business.
• Partner with platform teams to plan, build, and launch new platform capabilities.
• Continually optimize costs and drive meaningful cost cutting initiatives with broad organizational visibility and impact.
• Collaborate with application teams to track and ensure achievement against SLO targets.

You'll be a good fit if you have:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years directly managing teams.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience managing a significant AWS account.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
• High-level understanding of some of the following areas: fundamentals of computer science, distributed systems, algorithms, data structures, and databases.
• Some experience in Java or Python and an ability to jump in and learn about other languages as needed.
• Strong ability to follow through, stay organized, and juggle multiple tasks without losing track of anything.
• A self-starter mentality and demonstration of ownership, accountability, initiative, and urgency in past roles. 
• Great communication skills, both within and outside of the team.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, bring order to chaos, and identify and solve emergent issues proactively.

Nice to have:

• Expertise with AWS managed services and technologies including EKS, RDS, IAM, Cloudfront, and others.
• Experience with distributed databases like Aerospike, FoundationDB, and DynamoDB.
• A background in small and rapidly growing organizations.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimated compensation range for this role: the estimated pay range for this role, if based in Palo Alto, CA is $160,000 - $203,000.

Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Palo Alto only. Compensation for candidates outside of Palo Alto will be based on the candidate’s specific work location. 

Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location and may be more or less than the amount shown above.

This role will be based at our Palo Alto office and follows a Hybrid schedule that will be aligned with our Return to Office guidelines.
