Out Loud Acoustic Systems Engineer

Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
 

  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and engaged customer interaction.
  • Ownership of the product audio experience applying your passion and knowledge in systems, applied acoustics, psychoacoustics, and custom processing algorithms.
  • Develop new products for production within the Out Loud audio team and our partners.
  • Responsible for specifying acoustic requirements and optimizing physical acoustics through working collaboratively with mechanical and industrial design engineers.
  • Work efficiently with embedded hardware systems using modern software tools.
  • Develop new audio system concepts and conduct customer value assessments.

Must Have the Following Skills, Abilities, And Knowledge
 

  • Strong passion and drive to succeed.
  • Solid understanding of Acoustics and Psychoacoustics.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MATLAB with function/script development knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of acoustic transducers and audio/EE fundamentals.
  • Understanding of applied DSP theory.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability, willingness, and persistence to learn and efficiently apply new ideas.
  • Basic understanding of test and measurement equipment (National Instruments, LMS, Listen, Head Acoustics, or similar).
  • Background in software and coding (C, MATLAB, and Python) is preferred, as there are opportunities to customize and modify internal software tuning tools and scripts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree with an emphasis on Audio Engineering or DSP.
  • Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent is preferred
