Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Test and Evaluation Engineer located in Las Vegas, NV.

The selected candidate will be responsible for test planning and execution in support of a proprietary activity within Boeing Phantom Works.  As a Test and Evaluation Engineer in the test conductor role, you will lead test teams in the safe, efficient, and effective performance of ground and flight tests by partnering with subject matter experts.  Test and evaluation engineers use their detailed knowledge of test techniques and depth of knowledge you will receive on the systems under test to optimally and safely document, conduct, and report on sophisticated and multifaceted tests.  You will advise the test participants, from pre-briefing, to testing, and through debriefing, to capture the data needed to satisfy customer requirements.  The test and evaluation engineer is a key communicator, providing status, informative briefings, data, procedures, and reports.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Test and Evaluation Engineers.

Note – Primarily 1st shift: However, off-shift work will be required on a regular basis.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatable, effective, and efficient tests

• Define instrumentation and test article configuration requirements needed to perform tests

• Identify and mitigate technical and safety risks during test planning process

• Develop detailed test plans, test procedures, and test cards

• Incorporate lessons learned into future test activities

• Advocate and advise for testability during design of test hardware, software, and systems

• Oversee briefing and debriefing of the test team

• Direct and manage test team in various environments to include control room settings

• Prepare and publish test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements

• Present test results internally

• Rapidly acquire knowledge of normal & emergency procedures, operating limitations, and systems operation

• Document operating limitations and review and recommend changes to technical publications

• Plan and conduct test planning working group meetings, technical and safety review boards, and test readiness reviews

• Train new test conductors and flight test engineers

• Work under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). With ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

• 3+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution

• 3+ years of engineering experience in ground and/or flight test environments

• 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry

• 3+ years of experience as a Test Conductor, Test Director, and Lead Verification Engineer

• Able to work off-shift assignments (off-shift work will be required on a regular basis)

• (Level 4): 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

(Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (lead 3): 102,000 – 138,000

Summary pay range (lead 4): 121,550 – 164,450
