Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Information Technology (IT) Product Support and Services team in either Berkeley, MO or Hazelwood, MO

This team supports a diverse portfolio of applications and environments for Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) programs across the company. By joining the IT Product Support and Services Program Support Development Team, you will be part of an Agile software development team working directly with multi-billion-dollar programs to develop IT applications and solutions in support of military platforms and programs like F/A-18, F-15, etc. The role is both virtually and in-office as needed with other team members to lead the design, development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, interfaces, and full lifecycle sustainment of applications supporting teams across BDS quality, supply chain, and engineering. The candidate will be leading requirements gathering workshops with internal and external customers, designing the implementation solution, and maintaining the product throughout the life of the contract.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads and performs the design, program, test, implementation and documentation of complex computing applications and software or computing architecture and computing application system designs

  • Leads analysis of end user processes to define and gather application requirements

  • Writes and compiles complex code based on documented design or designs application architecture that integrates application software and delivery subsystems for specific applications

  • Modifies or upgrades complex applications to maintain functionality and performance

  • Identifies and recommends improvements

  • Identifies and resolves complex programming or application architecture problems

  • Writes and compiles code and constructs database objects based on documented design and analyzes information to determine architecture specifications, parameters for software compatibility, application security needs and other application architecture requirements

  • Identifies and resolves programming or application architecture problems

  • Reviews system performance and identifies and recommends improvements

  • Works as a self-starter and customer focus mindset

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with Java programming language

  • 5+ years of experience with C#

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and Oracle database maintenance

  • 5+ years of experience gathering and evaluating end user requirements to design application integration solutions

  • 5+ years of experience in an application development role, performing core activities across the software lifecycle- from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, integrations, deployments, and production support

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • 10+ years of experience performing software, database, integration, and server testing, debugging, and optimization

  • 5+ years of experience with system integration development and maintenance

  • 5+ years of experience with ADO (Azure DevOps), leading teams’ daily scrum, developing user stories, managing backlogs, and assigning tasks

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically, 9 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range: $113,900 – $154,100
