Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA.  The selected candidate will be responsible for performing design engineering for Systems laboratory test and instrumentation requirements of commercial and military programs.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate and Experienced level Mechanical Systems Design Engineers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the development and documentation of Lab Test instrumentation and support designs.
  • Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.
  • Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
  • Perform spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems
  • Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
  • Works under general supervision
  • Work amongst cross-functional teams

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science  
  • 1+ years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Test and Evaluation Engineering
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences, and be a self-starter

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: $81,600 – $110,400

Summary pay range for experienced level: $102,000 - $138,000
