Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a Junior Numerical Control (NC) Programmer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, NC Programming, working out of the Winnipeg, MB office. 

The Associate Numerical Control (NC) Programmer will join the Boeing Winnipeg NC Programming team which is responsible for creating and maintaining machine control programs used in the production of aircraft components.  

The team coordinates with production operations, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, and quality to determine programming requirements and develop, update, verify, and test machine control data. The new team member will solve complex and unique problems related to defect reduction, cost improvement, rate increases, and more, by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking to discover opportunities and solutions.

This is a 24-month fixed term position.

Position Responsibilities:
•    Develops, revises, and verifies Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry.
•    Provides machine operator instructions and set up documentation for automated or numerically controlled equipment following established work processes.
•    Assists in research and data collection and supports cross functional teams with problem solving for manufacturing issues, proposes solutions to improve quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
•    Supports development of technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility, planning and executing the integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software, and equipment.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
•    Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in a relevant field of Engineering
•    Must be registered, or eligible to be registered, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as an E.I.T (Engineer in Training) or P. Eng. (Professional Engineer) 
•    Must be legally able to work in Canada
•    Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods 
•    Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
•    Working knowledge of Catia V5 or equivalent CAD/CAM software
•    Experience with Numerical Control (NC) programming or manufacturing engineering
•    Composite and/or Aerospace manufacturing knowledge is considered an asset.
•    Knowledge of advanced manufacturing approaches including Automation and Robotics is considered an asset.

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 2 years' related work experience).

Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
