Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions, DAS is looking for an Experienced Software Developer (Virtual). As a member of the DAS Flight Planning and Dispatch Opsdata team, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of a complex software solution.

The position will place you in a role where you have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the delivery of our product offerings and participate in the future of flight planning solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, demonstrate a growth mindset, be curious, and have strong problem-solving skills.

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions that align with business goals.
• Troubleshoots and leads root cause analysis for issues across software components.
• Help define technical requirements, system architecture, and design patterns for complex software products.
• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, security, maintainability, and best practices.
• Support a culture of continuous learning and relentless improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the software development process in alignment with the frameworks/methodologies supported across the organization.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):         

• Bachelor's or in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5 years’ experience as a Software Developer or similar role, with a track record of successful software design and implementation.
• Strong expertise in cloud technologies and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Master's degree or higher
• Experience working on an Agile team
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.
• Good knowledge of container solutions: Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience with GIT (Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, git-flow will be a plus)
• Experience with Cloud Solutions (Azure, AWS)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab)
• Previous experience developing aviation software systems is preferred
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Perl

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience.
