The Cargo Delivery Element (CDE) Technical Project Manager will report directly to the CDE Senior Manager to directly impact technology maturation for space-rated fuel cell systems. The products developed provide Lunar Transportation lander vehicles with Cargo Accommodations products to enable unprecedented crew and mass to surface capabilities. You will perform project management functions across the entire product life cycle from research, design development, final flight hardware design, manufacturing, and production. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain Project Schedule(s) within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), including supporting coordination and implementation of National Team partner schedules
  • Develop standards for and administer the tools for program scheduling, resource planning, cost analysis, and reporting
  • Complete cost-benefit justifications on strategic system-level design optimization decisions, including make-buy/where analysis, should-cost modeling, capacity analysis, staffing profiles, capital expenditure analysis, and tracking, and cash flow modeling
  • Collaborate with purchasing and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery of hardware and production equipment
  • Develop and maintain statement of work documents (SOWs) for technical product generation, hardware and software procurements with subcontractors, vendors, and National Team partners
  • Conduct meetings within and across teams to define clear objectives and actions as an outcome of the discussions, including across systems engineering, integrated products teams, and National Team partners
  • Handle key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: budget, engineering schedules, equipment schedules, procurement schedules, production schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans
  • Generate boards/tools necessary for reporting IPT operations health to Lunar Product Engineering, including data for Weekly Business Reviews (WBR) and Lunar Program Weekly Review and Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
  • Performs scrum master role for product teams following agile development methods, including defining and completing team sprints
  • Represents the CDE in agile product planning sessions

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering (various disciplines)
  • 5+ years of experience in highly technical and multidisciplinary engineering development projects, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost
  • Experienced at translating quantitative and qualitative information into project requirements, scoping and planning documents, and ultimately build ready-for-use and fit-for-purpose tools and processes.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management and Cost Account Management such as EVM
  • Experience with Agile project management and Jira software
  • Experience with MS Project, P6 Primavera, or similar
  • Experience with supplier subcontracts
  • Experience with NASA, DOD, or national defense customers
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while regularly providing imaginative and detailed technical solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA degree or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Experience with Macros, Power Query and Power Pivot in Excel
  • Experience in running programs for aircraft, spacecraft, or other airspace or aerospace-related products
  • Familiarity with developing aerospace technology from low TRL through flight hardware
  • Familiarity with space vehicle subsystems such as Avionics, Guidance/Navigation/Control, Structures, Mechanisms, Electrical Power Systems
  • Familiarity with aerospace system design requirements such as thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, acoustics, electrical grounding/bonding
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is
$115,920$162,288 USD
