DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced team player to add to our DevOps team. As a DevOps engineer, you are known for thinking on your feet, learning quickly, documenting experiences for cross-team training or onboarding, and owning a problem to resolution. You enjoy solving complex problems while contributing new ideas & techniques, leading to continuous improvement for the embedded Business Unit. 

Responsibilities

As part of the team, you will:

Problem Resolution:

• Actively engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure the smooth operation of systems and applications.

• Take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution, ensuring minimal impact on operations.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for improvement in processes, tools, and methodologies, and implement changes to enhance overall efficiency.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for DevOps processes.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide effective DevOps solutions.

• Document experiences and solutions for cross-team training and onboarding purposes.

Innovation:

• Bring new ideas and techniques to the team to enhance the overall performance and reliability of systems.

• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to propose and implement innovative solutions.

Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and training.

Team Player:

• Collaborate effectively with team members, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

• Share knowledge and mentor team members to promote skill development and growth.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a DevOps/Operations Engineer 

• Experience with Linux systems (We use Ubuntu, but any modern variant is fine).

• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with Cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and respective API’s.

• Experience with mission-critical systems.

• Experience with software development & continuous delivery in a SaaS environment.

• Experience with Database improvements (preferred MySQL, Postgres, and Redshift)

• Responsible, team-oriented, well-organized individual with strong communication skills.

• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while adapting quickly to rapidly changing priorities.

• Excellent communication skills in English - both written and spoken
